Projects and Ministries

Milton Area Youth Center

Since opening its doors in March 2011, the Milton Area Youth Center has provided a safe and positive social environment for the teens of our community. At MAYC, students not only interact with friends, but have the opportunity to build relationships with mentors who proactively engage, assist and encourage our youth.  Having initiated the vision for the youth center, we are glad to partner with MAYC in its ministry to students in grades 7-9.  Read more.

G.I.F.T.S (God Is Faithful Temporary Shelter)

Since December 2007, G.I.F.T.S. has been filling a need to provide temporary housing for men in the Janesville area.  Traveling to a new church every week, the unused space in local churches during the week has been put to effective use to provide a bed, meals and help for men in need.  We partner with G.I.F.T.S. two weeks out of their season in conjunction with a church in Janesville.  Find out more at their website.

Operation Christmas Child

Every year, Samaritan's Purse works with individuals, churches and organizations to pack shoeboxes full of Christmas gifts along with a gospel message to children in need around the world.  In 2010 over 8.17 million shoeboxes were packed and sent to over 96 countries.  For the last two years our Awana ministry has encouraged families to donate gifts to go in the shoeboxes and taken one club night to allow the kids to pack the shoeboxes as a way to involve them in this mission.  Read more about OCC.
 

Salvation Singers

This ministry to the seniors of our area focuses on bringing the message of life in Jesus Christ through music and drama.  On the fourth Saturday of the month our group travels to nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the Milton, Edgerton and Janesville area singing gospel and old time songs which greatly minister not only to the seniors but also their families and staff members.  Everyone is welcome to join in and sing.  Check out the church calendar for times locations.

Larry Schultz

A missionary with Youth For Christ (YFC) in Southern Wisconsin for over 30 years, Larry ministers to High School students through Campus Life clubs, student leaders Bible studies, Release Time religious education and Koinonia Singers, a gospel touring group with a show choir flair.  Learn more about the ministry of YFC here.

 

Citizen Way

The contemporary Christian band made up of two sets of brothers, Ben and Josh Calhoun and Ben and David Blascoe, are what we refer to as musicianaries.  Taking the message of Christ through song to people across the country is their mission.  You can check them out online at citizenwaymusic.com or at their Facebook page, facebook.com/citizenway. 

 

Kurt and Cathy Michler

As veteran missionaries with Serving In Mission (SIM), Kurt and Cathy have a heart for training leaders in Ethiopia where they have been ministering for many years. Read about the ministry of SIM in Ethiopia.  

 

Mark and Linda Bentz Family

The Bentz family served with Africa Inland Mission (AIM) from January 2011 through June 2012 in the country of Lesotho, Africa, a small mountainous country surrounded by South Africa on the southernmost tip of the continent.
